Road Renewal on Birkenhead Ave

Auckland Transport will commence work on improving the road on Birkenhead Ave, and need to temporarily close the section between Pupuke Road and Onewa Road, as part of our regular maintenance programme.

This upgrade will make the road stronger, safer, and better prepared for bad weather.

When:

Friday 27 December 2024 – Sunday 2 February 2025 (weather dependent)

What they’ll be doing: 

• Digging up the old road and resurfacing the road at night to reduce disruption
• Upgrading stormwater drainage
• Adding a concrete foundation
• Testing to ensure quality

Duration: 

Up to 6 weeks (weather dependent)
